Are you afraid to board your cat?

Boarding facilities can greatly reduce stress for their feline clients by keeping cats’ unique needs in mind during facility design and take measures to reduce stress for their feline guests. Since cats dislike change, boarding can be a stressful experience.

Cats are highly sensitive to energy and need to relax and acclimate at their own pace. We have found most cats will adjust within two or three days. They may not eat much during the adjustment period, and it is critical that food intake is monitored closely. We watch for settling in behaviours like eating, drinking, where they stay in their room and if they curl up and sleep.

Our rooms have feature resting boards, separate bathroom and eating areas, hiding boxes, bedding and toys that can go a long way toward making cats more comfortable.

Cat’s need human interaction, and a chance to play. A view of the garden and yard, TV” playing soft music, and spraying pheromone can all help reduce anxiety and be beneficial.
